In this weeks episode, we are joined by Royal Army Physical Training Corps instructor Coach Dean Hammond. He's got years of experience in the industry and he was pretty vocal about Skinny Jab on social media so it made sense to get him on this week. So this week we discuss Skinny Jab, Juice plus and Boombod. In the mix of all these products we also discuss weight/fat loss as a whole and how we as an industry need to change the language used and work harder to get the right information out there.
Skinny Jab has been blowing up on socials recently due to certain Z list celebs like Gemma Collins promoting it to their huge following. We look at what this product actually is. We break it down scientifically but also dive into the ethical side of the product and the morality of these certain celebs endorsing it when they have such a susceptible following.
Juice Plus has been around for a while now and it's probably known more for it's "multi-level marketing". We all know that person who appears in your inbox after 10 years of speaking to them saying "You are such a driven person, I'd love to be able to help you. Sell my juice" So we really get into what multi-level marketing (pyramid scheme) is all about and then once again break down the product and its claims. Let's not also forget all the great "studies" on the website. Yeah, we destroy those as well. It's a juicy segment. (Pun intended)
Boombod is a nightmare. Tom & Dean have both been blocked by them so that didn't help their case. For what is essentially 3 10kcal sachets a day that makes you sh*t the price point of £120 for a months supply is a bit of a joke. They claim there are no laxatives, but on closer inspection the only clinically proven active ingredient for weight loss is glucomannan. Guess what? It's a water-soluble dietary fibre that has shown to be effective as a bulk-forming laxative. So yeah we destroy this product as well.
These are all utterly terrible products and we don't hold back. It's not all negative though as we really do try and give some advice and discuss how we as an industry can change and educate others better so they don't turn to these products in the first place.
In this episode, we also launch Skinny Candle (100% not a pyramid scheme) 99% wax 1% wick which promises outrageous results and a firey skin glow. Listen to the full episodes for all the details on how you can get involved. Once again 100%, not a pyramid scheme. (Give or take 100%)
